The project.

Vileda Professional is a globally established brand of Freudenberg SE and has been developing innovative solutions for professional cleaning for over 70 years — from mopping systems to microfiber cloths to cleaning carts.

Vileda Professional's extensive product range gives rise to numerous variants of packaging and labels. To ensure a consistent and error-free design, eyeworkers developed a custom web-to-print solution for Vileda Professional that covers the entire process, from label design to the creation of print-ready files.

Features

To cover the entire process, three central components are needed in the label database:

The product database holds all products together with their associated master data — such as size, color and other product-specific information. This data can be systematically captured, maintained and managed.

A separate database contains all templates for labels and product stickers, which serve as the basis for designing the print templates. These templates can likewise be managed centrally.

Via an integrated editor, the templates can now be populated with the desired product data in just a few clicks. In the preview, users can check whether the product data has been correctly transferred into the template. The finished label can then be exported as a print-ready file.

Technology

The label database was built as a web application with React in the frontend and Symfony in the backend. Granular permission management enables targeted control of user and access rights.
