The project.

The Landesarchiv preserves the archival heritage of Baden-Württemberg and makes it accessible to everyone interested, across multiple locations and through diverse media. Our task was to work with the client to develop an intuitive concept that makes online research and regional history topics newly accessible and engaging for everyone. The user and their expectations — which can differ greatly depending on the target audience — always remain at the center.

To match the equally new corporate design, the new website was meant to present the Landesarchiv's image in a modern way and shed the dusty image of an archive. When designing the information architecture and navigation structure, the search concept and topic-oriented content preparation with well thought-out filter options were integrated holistically as well. All 10 locations/archives of the Landesarchiv are represented with their own customizable landing page, informing visitors about location-specific news and events.

A staff directory search makes it easy to find the right contact person across all departments and locations.
